...Blogger's Cramp?...

My only excuse for not keeping up with this blog is simply this ... TIME HAS FLOWN BY!!!

Life for us is like a super grumpy basketball coach; it never lets us stop to take a breather!
Either way, if you care to know, here is an update on our last year:

Cabin Trip and Tori's Wedding

In August, my family went on a trip to Palisades, Idaho.  My Grandma and Grandpa Burton have a cabin by the lake and we've gone every year, since I can remember.

We usually four-wheel, fish, make a trip to Jackson Hole for shopping and our FAVORITE - go to the Bar-J Wrangler chuck-wagon dinner and show!!!

Tom couldn't get service to check his Fantasy Baseball and Maddie fell asleep .. haha :)

Tori and Matt were married on August, 15.  We were grateful to be a part of their special day! :)

Cute Snoopy tie, right?

September 2009
Clark Planetarium

We visited the Clarke Planetarium for the first time :)
Tom walked on the moon;
I visited Mars;
We watched a disgusting educational 3D movie about BUGS!!!

October 2009
WISCONSIN!!!

Tom's Grandma Seepkamp lives in Janesville, Wisconsin.  We decided to visit her the first part of October.  I absolutely loved Wisconsin.  The mid-west is so beautiful!  Grandma See was the best hostess ever and we had a fabulous time :)

Norwalk, WI is where Tom's Grandpa See grew-up.  He passed away several years ago, and they took me to see the grave site.  Norwalk is a "right-out-of-a-movie" kind of country town ... I have never been anywhere quite like it!

My #1 favorite thing about Norwalk - BLACK SQUIRRELS!
I didn't believe it when I saw the sign, but sure enough ... I chased found this cute little guy at the park for proof :) Isn't he cute??

Most interesting part of our trip - The Seekamp Farm.
I had heard several stories about the farm at several family functions.
Tom's family never went into any detail - other than the farm existed and some of the family lived there.

So, while we were at the cemetery I saw this....

BEAUTIFUL MID-WESTERN FARM HOUSE!!!

After I saw this, I was SO anxious to go to the farm.
I grew up on a little family farm, but I was sure this going to be the farm icing on the cake!

We convinced Grandma See into taking us there.  So, we traveled on the country road for a little while, and then turned on to a windy dirt road.  As we followed the road, we started to climb the hillside. As we approached the top, I looked out and saw...

and THEN I saw the farm house DOUBLE-WIDE TRAILER ....
Me: "Tom, are we almost to the farm?" Tom: "Linds, this is the farm."
Shut the front door! Are you serious?
The "Farm" is a set of double-wide trailers on farm land - which land is no longer used.
And NO - I did not take a picture.  Give me a break, I was bummed!

I did take a picture of Tom by the "Farm" sign, we were able to meet some of his family AND ...
I did get to kiss the only cow on the farm :)

Lesson Learned:
The "Farm" will always be referenced (whether in writing or speech) using quotation marks!

Rotary Gardens

Harley Davidson Museum & Milwaukee

We met-up with Grandma See's friends, Norma and Al at Culver's.
Culver's puts butter on their hamburger buns and has pumpkin shakes ... the end :)

On our last day there, Grandma See took us to lunch at Millie's - a super delicious restaurant with a bunch of little shopping boutiques! The little shi-tzu was the guard dog at the Quilt Shop :)

Obviously, we had a GREAT time and I can't wait to go back!

Anderson Family Tradition: Christmas Tree Hunting

We stayed at Brock and Barb's cabin in Flaming Gorge while we searched for the perfect christmas tree.
The pictures I have of us hunting aren't very good quality, but oh well..

This was my new friend, Mia.  She was so cute!

All decorated, pretty and ready for the PRESENTS :)  We loved our first Christmas!

End of December 2009 & January 2010
NEW HOUSE!!!

We decided that we wanted to buy a house in November, and finally found one in late December.
It was a stressful and exhausting process, but WE DID IT!

The previous owner's left the house a filthy mess.
It took seven awesome family members, bottles and bottles of 409, carpet cleaner, and endless garbage bags to make the house "move-in" ready.
We moved in right before Christmas.

We have worked endlessly to make the house a home.  It just needed some TLC and a few updates.
It is still a work in progress, but this is how it looks today:

Master Bedroom and Bathroom

Guest Bedroom

Craft Room

AMAZING Pegboard Tom made for me!

Living Room

Kitchen and Dining Room

 Basement Family Room

We have learned that there are definitely pros and cons to being home-owners!!!
PRO: Freedom.  No more landlords!
CON:  Suffering Bank Account
PRO:  We can have a pet!
CON:  Gas/Electric/Water/Sewer/Cable/Internet Bills (ALL included in our first apartment rent!)
PRO: It makes us feel like grown-ups :)
CON:  YARD WORK!
PRO: Having the space for parties and BBQ's!

I'm SO grateful that Tom is a handy-man!!!
He is the best at fixing things and rarely complains about being pulled into the middle of my projects :)

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

Tom's favorite comedian is Gabrial Igelsias.
I got us tickets for his show in Primm for our anniversary :)
Primm is ghetto, but the show was awesome!
We had a good time celebrating our first year of marriage!
It was fun to look back on all of our experiences and realize how much we have grown together.

Grandpa Bob's 90th Birthday
Weber County Rodeo

The 4th was fun this year!!
Tom and I are notorious for getting in arguments on New Years and the 4th - but this year we played it safe on both holidays :)
We had a good time lighting fireworks and going to a Bee's game

............

My Grandpa Bob turned 90 this year! He is such a trooper.  I love him so much!
Our family had a little "reunion" for his birthday.
It was nice to see all our family together and have fun with the kids.
Rigby Lake was hands-down my favorite part!

Isn't he the cutest???

I am so grateful for my family and friends who make my life awesome!
I am so blessed !!!

FINALLY, I am all caught up :)
Hopefully, I can keep better track of this thing from now on.
It's nice to remember and write down all my memories!
