In March, Tom and I were able to make a trip to Hawaii to visit Abbie & Rory.
I'm a nervous wreck when flying, so it was a difficult trip across the ocean for me.
Number One - I was 5 months prego.
Number Two: The day we left was the day of the tsunami in Japan and Hawaii was under strict tsunami warning ...Yep, just my luck!
Thank heavens we made it safe and there was no tsunami in Hawaii.
Heavenly Father definitely watches over those little islands :)
Needless to say, we had an amazing time!!!

Day 1: Arriving, Kahuku Grill, Farmer's Market, Diamond Head & Baby Jacob
We arrived in the afternoon, so Day 1 really encompasses two days, but we were so dumbstruck by the beauty, we didn't really know what day it was anyway! I woke up the morning after arriving and it sounded like I was in the middle of the zoo! The birds were incredible! I couldn't believe my sister lived there every single day!

Day Three: Pearl Harbor & Turtle Bay
Pearl Harbor was probably one of the neatest sites on our trip. Tom really loved it!
It was a humbling experience for the both of us.
Not to mention, the day we decided we could never live on a submarine!

After dinner at Ola's, we saw the night show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. No pictures were allowed during the performance, but it was really cool.
I loved the fire dancing and the Tahitian girls that could hula like there was no tomorrow :)
Oh, and they had this pineapple ice cream thingy that was delicious!
Day Four: Laie Temple & Hanauma Bay
Abbie lived right next to the temple.
It would have been such a disappointment to not attend a session while we were there.
Luckily, we made it! What an enriching and wonderful opportunity!
After the temple, we set out for snorkeling at Hanauma Bay.
The bay was absolutely breathtaking - my snorkeling skills, however, not so much!
I was an anxious mess. I've never been snorkeling before and I had a really hard time, to say the least. Thank goodness for a patient husband who helped me learn.
I took up most of our time at the bay, but I was finally able to get the hang of it (without freaking out)!
Me and Tom were able to snorkel for a little bit.
The fish and reef were so cool!
I can't wait to go again someday when I will be a much better partner for Tom!
